How the PDA works for UCLA postdocs

After several years of providing important social and networking opportunities for UCLA postdoctoral scholars, the Sociable Postdoc Society (SPS) will be updated to the official Postdoctoral Association (PDA) for the UCLA campus, following guidelines by the National Postdoctoral Association. Through collaboration between SPS leadership, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs in the Biomedical and Lifesciences, and the Graduate Division’s Postdoctoral Scholar Appointment and Services (PSAS) team, this new PDA will be charged to:

  1. Enhance UCLA postdocs’ sense of community and identity
  2. Foster communication between postdocs, faculty, and administration
  3. Contribute a postdoctoral perspective to campus issues
  4. Facilitate opportunities for postdoc social engagement and community building
  5. Provide a leadership development program to the PDA Executive Board
