Housing needed - Westwood / UCLA

Hey there. I am a 37 year old straight male UCLA full-time employee in need of housing.

I'm looking for someone who has a room for rent in Westwood area (short or long term), male / female, straight / gay, age 25-45, professional or student but carrier oriented, reliable, quiet and easy going. Paying rent and bills on time is a must. No drugs, no severe addictions, no other crazy / unsafe things. I also prefer someone who is somewhat social and not a room hermit - you know those people, always stay in room with the door shut. Lame I also don't mind if you have people over on occasions, I just don't want the party to be brought back to the house.

I'm originally from Romania, and have lived in LA for about 3 years now; chill, laid back, professional who works 8.30-5.30 at UCLA. During the week, I like kicking back after work and staying pretty mellow & quiet, playing on my PC, studying or sleeping. I sometimes go out to the bars with friends on Sat or Sunday nights, but always keep all the noise out of the apartment. Don't drink alcohol, don't do drugs, don't watch TV for more than 5 min/day, don't use the kitchen for more than 10 min/day.

Flexible with my move-in date, but I would strongly prefer to be settled by 1st of August. I am looking to pay between $650 and $900, but might be willing to go slightly higher for a particularly awesome place.

Some of the things I would like in an apartment are:
-my own room (no smaller than 9'x10'ish)
-a clean bathroom
-internet access (high speed)
-access to laundry facilities
-a nice, respectful, quiet, reliable roommate

Since I go to UCLA, I'm like to find a place in the Westwood / Brentwood / West LA / Century City area. Ideally on Westwood at Santa Monica Blvd, 90024, or close to that area.

I've always gotten along well with past roommates (got great references), so I think I'm pretty easy to live with. Please write to me if you think we'd be a good match, and feel free to ask any questions you can think of.

Thanks very much for reading my exceedingly long post.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi there, if you're

Hi there,

if you're interested in looking for a 2bd 2bath apartment together I'm in a similar boat to you (I put an add up on this site the other day). I'm looking for a place to move into as of the 1st of September, or perhaps sooner to start my move from UC-Davis. I'm starting a postdoc in the Geology department in September for at least 1 year. I;'ve been postdocing at UC-Davis for a couple years now and before that I was working on my PhD in my home town of Melbourne, Australia. I'm a 30 year old straight male, my partner is a grad student here at UC-Davis. I like a clean quiet home as well, with at least a sociable easy going atmosphere like yourself.

I came down to LA on monday-tuesday to start looking for a place, but it seems like everything's either available right away or in a couple weeks time, so I was a little early in my search. I'll be coming down again sometime soon though to hopefully sort out a lease, so if you want to get together to do a search for places just email me... jayrblack [at] hotmail [dot] com.

cheers,
Jay

Hey Jay, Sounds

Hey Jay,

Sounds cool.
Couldn't find your ad through the UCLA Postdoc Forums, where is at? Also, couldn't contact you by email, so that's why I'm posting this here.
Although I'm looking to move in the new place by the 1st of August. Just FYI.
