Hi,
I wanted to pass on what might be of interest to postdocs in search of
career options. I just left UCLA after 3 years as a postdoc in Neuology
for a Science and Technology Policy fellowship supported by the American
Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS, publisher of Science
magazine). The Fellowship is open to PhDs from all career levels and all
areas of study (about 150 of us this year from social, biological,
chemical sciences, as well as engineering), with the goal of working in
government and learning about science policy. So far, the experience, and
the networking, has been amazing, and we are only in orientation now. I
start at the State Dept next week. For more information, anyone can check
out the website at http://fellowships.aaas.org, or feel free to contact
me (ajbigbee [at] hotmail [dot] com).
Best, Allison
