Travel- Conferences Funding

Travel- Conferences Funding

Hi,

I was wondering whether someone knew about funding opportunities from the UC system or UCLA or... for non-US citizen and for conferences. Most 'mini-grants' I come across are for citizens or grad students. It seems very difficult to have access to these kinds of funding! (that is if one wants to do more than the typical one or 2 conferences on the PI's grant or own fellowhsip).

Thanks for your comments in advance! :-)

Virginie

Re: Travel- Conferences Funding

Hi Virginie,

I was searching for such funding recently for a conference. There is nothing at the UC level for non-residents. Your only hope is
1) if your department has internal funding for travel grants or
2) if the conference or meeting you go to itself offers such compensation (many do - check their websites).

Perhaps one of the things the SoPS can institute for the future is one such Fund to serve our own community.

Best,

Ajay
