Postdoctoral position in gastrointestinal tract function alterations

I am a UCLA faculty at the Dept. of Medicine , Division of Digestive Diseases with a research lab located at the Greater Los Angeles VA (West LA Campus).  I have an opening for a postdoctoral fellow in my lab, available immediately. The position is for two years, extendable depending on funding sources.

My research focuses on stress and the gastrointestinal tract function alterations (pain, motility) with emphasis on the CRF signaling in the gut tissues and the dorsal root ganglia of the spinal cord.  We use in vivo functional assays as well as primary enteric and DRG neuron cultures and molecular tools to understand the effect and mechanisms of stress on gastrointestinal tract in health and diseases. There is a close collaboration with different research groups at the VA and UCLA campuses including on trauma and gut microbiome and degenerative diseases.  Strong preference will be given to candidates with  in vivo integrative biology background and adeptness in cell culture and molecular techniques.

If interested, please contact (please add postdoc to subject line).
