The UCLA Immunogenetics Center, Department of Pathology, University of California, Los Angeles (www.hla.ucla.edu) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate for a translational research project in transplant immunology. The project focuses on mechanisms of transplant rejection with particular emphasis on the discovery and characterization of novel biomarkers of the immune response during solid organ transplant rejection.This research project will involve discovery, characterization and developing/validating new state-of the art assays. The successful candidate must have outstanding achievements in their doctoral research and possess independent research abilities and ambitious scientific goals.
Applicant must be a Ph.D. candidate or recent Ph.D. graduate (within the past 2 years) in immunology, cell and/or molecular biology with experience in tissue culture, quantitative immunoassays and flow cytometry. Experience in assay development and validation including ELISA or luminex protein and antibody measurements is a plus.
